10 Minute presentation – Mentoring and Business Coaching.
What’s the difference between Mentoring and Coaching?
- Coaching: helping another person (or persons) to improve awareness; to set and achieve goals, in order to improve a particular behavioural performance
- Mentoring: helping to shape an individual’s beliefs and values in a positive way; often a longer-term career relationship with someone who has ‘done it before’
- Mentoring and Business Coaching applies to all areas of your business – Finance/Sales/Marketing/Operations/HR
- It applies to all levels – Owner/Director/Franchisee/Management/Teams/individuals
- It applies to any size of business – from one-man to large corporations
So what’s this Mentoring/Coaching about?
- It’s about taking your business from where it is at the moment, to where you want it to be
- It’s about streamlining your operations to minimise loss
- It’s about maximising profit
- It’s about future sustainability
- It’s about removing stress from your environment
What is the process?
- Together, the Vision, Goals and Purpose of the business are established clearly
- The differences between current situation and future requirements are analysed (customer requirements/cost-effective/skills/legal/timing/quality)
- Priorities are acted upon, and revisited
- Identify causes of poor performance – and rectify
- The process is monitored, and information fed back into the system to improve it (this is an ongoing process)
